El Born, donde est\u00e1 Kush Weed Coffeeshop, en Carrer de Freixures, linda con el Parc de la Ciutadella, y el Arc de Triomf queda a un paseo corto m\u00e1s al norte. Desde cualquiera de los dos se llega a la zona de Santa Caterina en unos cinco a quince minutos a pie, seg\u00fan el punto de partida.<\/p>\n<h2>Dos hitos de la Exposici\u00f3n de 1888<\/h2>\n<p>Ambos lugares deben su forma actual a la Exposici\u00f3n Universal que Barcelona celebr\u00f3 en 1888.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>El Arc de Triomf<\/strong> se construy\u00f3 como entrada principal de la Exposici\u00f3n, en ladrillo rojo, en lo alto del Passeig de Llu\u00eds Companys. Es una puerta de acceso y no un monumento b\u00e9lico, algo poco habitual entre los arcos de triunfo.<\/li>\n<li><strong>El Parc de la Ciutadella<\/strong> ocupa el solar de la fortaleza construida tras el asedio de 1714 para controlar la ciudad. La fortaleza se derrib\u00f3 en el siglo XIX y el terreno se convirti\u00f3 en el parque que acogi\u00f3 la Exposici\u00f3n.
